Crazy Day

So...yesterday was pretty much insane. My Papa has been having good days and bad. He is in the nursing home at this point. Sunday was a great day. He was funny and just really enjoyed having visitors and family around. Monday....not a good day....but that is pretty typical. He has a good day, and then the next day not so much, only to be followed again by a good day. So...yesterday was SUPPOSED to be a typical good day. It wasn't. He was running a fever, talking out of his mind, they thought he had pneumonia (which thank GOD he doesn't)....they started running blood tests, and he is on visitor lock down. No one can visit except for Nanny, and his children. Which totally stinks, because I miss him and want to visit. It is definitely a scary time for my family. My mom has started to cry when we talk about it....my dad is totally depressed...I can't even begin on Nanny.....

At this point I am just praying that his pain will end soon. No, I don't want him to die....but I don't want him to suffer either. I believe in life after death, and I know he will go exactly where he needs to be. It will be horrible for us who he will be leaving behind, but wonderful for him. Hopefully they discover a cure for cancer this week. That would be ideal.

Let It Snow....Let It Snow....Let It Snow!

Wow! So we got our first "big" snow of the season yesterday! I say "big" because it's 3"...which by the way is a LOT for Kentucky....not so much for people up in Michigan, or any of the other states that have multiple FEET right now. I can't even imagine. I'd die. I HATE HATE HATE cold weather. I'd much rather be warm. The only nice thing about cold weather is being bundled up in blankets with your loved ones in front of a fire place. That is it. Everything else about it totally stinks. I mean you get snow on the roads, and suddenly no one can drive. (I mean I don't drive....my hubby drove me into work yesterday and today) BUT there are plenty of people who do take it upon themselves to drive, and realistically they shouldn't. We got stuck behind some woman today in a 45mph zone going 20. And the roads really weren't that bad this morning. Well...as we're passing her of course I glance over, and she's fumbling with her cigarette. It's like seriously lady? You're going 15mph below the speed limit on a snowy morning and fiddling with a cigarette? Are you kidding me?!?! So that's my snow story. :)

Tomorrow my bestie and I are headed to LexVegas! SO excited!! We're going to see our friend Amanda and her son. We're gonna shop, and eat, and shop some more! I am so terribly excited about this trip. I thought the snow might ruin it and make it so we couldn't go, but we've decided to forge on! Surely by tomorrow the roads will have been driven on for like 2 days and all should be great! YAY!!

Well, that's all for now. Hope you and yours have a fantastic weekend too! xoxo

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Wow! Hard to believe it's 2010!! It seems like 2009 just FLEW right on by. Before we know it it'll be 2011. We had SO many things going on the last two years. We got married in 2008, and my brother got married this past November....so no more Weddings for us. Well, with the exception of some friends who are getting married in July. :)

The Holiday's were wonderful...got to spend lots of time with friends and family. My parents left on the 29th to go to Florida to be with my grandparents to ring in the New Year. The game plan was my dad and his friend would then drive back on Sunday the 3rd, but of course...nothing ever goes to plan. Papa got sick....and when mom & dad got down there to be with him, one of the first things he said was he was finally ready to come back home to Kentucky...and that he hoped it wasn't too late. Well, he was air-ambulanced home on Saturday the 2nd. He's staying at a hospital for the moment, and hopefully will be moved into a rehabilitation facility by the end of the week. We have noticed him getting stronger every day. So that is nice to see. He still has his strong sense of humor, and is just truly an inspiration. We're all glad he's home. :)

Well, I guess that is all for now. I guess I'll talk to you soon! Happy 2010 everyone!!
