33 Weeks!!

YOUR BABY: MONTH 8
Baby's senses are continuing to improve -- when light peeks in through your (extremely) stretched belly, those tiny eyelids and irises blink and dilate. And, baby can now recognize and react to simple songs...time to start practicing your lullabies! Growth (at least inside your womb) is starting to slow, and you may notice baby descent into your pelvis at the end of this month!

WEEK 33 OF PREGNANCY

Your baby's immune system gets a boost, while his sleepless mommy could use a boost of energy!

Your baby is still gaining weight (about half a pound a week), and he could grow up to another full inch this week! With that much baby inside your uterus, your amniotic-fluid level has maxed out, which explains why some of his pokes and kicks feel pretty sharp these days. (There's less fluid to cushion the blows.) Antibodies are being passed from you to your little one as he continues to develop his own fetal immune system, which will come in handy once he's outside the womb and fending off all sorts of germs.
WOW! Once again I am completely amazed at all that is going on inside my body! I still say it's completely bizarre and weird. Quite frankly, Ben's movement has gotten so crazy I'm back to feeling like there is a little alien trying to escape my belly! At the doctors this week she felt around and said he is definitely head down! So hopefully he won't flip back around before the BIG DAY. :) Whenever that may be....I keep meaning to ask how my doctor feels about inducing...so that way I can have a "goal date" in mind. Of course hubby wants to "let nature take it's course". If looks could kill he would've dropped dead in that waiting room. ha! Well, I guess that's all I have for now...stats are below!
HOW FAR ALONG: 33 Weeks!
TOTAL WEIGHT GAIN/LOSS: 6lbs....again....
MATERNITY CLOTHES: Yup, still in 'em. I actually got some new ones thank goodness!
STRETCH MARKS: Oh yeah. Not really liking them, but there's little I can do about it at this point. :p
SLEEP: I'm not sleeping well. By the time I get comfortable and fall asleep....I have to get up to pee...and then the whole entire process starts all over.
BEST MOMENTS LAST WEEK: We can now not only feel Ben move, but you can see my stomach moving. It is so incredibly bizarre. So that is really neat.
MOVEMENT: All the time. Well, there were a few days this week when he wasn't AS active as he usually is, but I think he must have just worn himself out because he was still hitting his 10 movements in an hour really easily.
FOOD CRAVINGS: Donuts....and now oreos. Why I can't seem to crave salads or broccoli or something healthy I don't know....
GENDER: BOY OH BOY!!
LABOR SIGNS: I have started having Braxton Hicks contractions. NOT a good time. I have only had two close together once...and by close together I mean within two hours. Other than that I have like one in the morning, and then maybe not another one until the following day in the afternoon.
BELLY BUTTON IN OR OUT: Still in....very flat looking....but in...OH...and where my belly button used to be pierced looks absolutely bizarre. Really regretting that high school decision at this point. LOL!
WHAT I MISS: My regular bathing suits. :p I hate looking like a beached whale in my maternity suit. BLAH!
WHAT I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO: Why having this baby of course!! 7 MORE WEEKS!
MILESTONES: Started Braxton Hicks contractions, and am officially in my 8th month!!!
Have a great weekend!! xoxo

32 Weeks!!!

WEEK 32
Your baby is practicing survival skills like sucking and breathing, while your uterus is practicing some Braxton Hicks contractions!

What's up with your baby? He's starting to get ready for his big debut, tipping the scales at almost four pounds and topping out at just about 19 inches. In these past few weeks, it's all about practice, practice, practice as he hones the skills he'll need to thrive outside the womb -- from swallowing and breathing to kicking and sucking. And speaking of sucking, your little one has been able to suck his thumb for a while now. Something else to note: As more and more fat accumulates under your baby's skin, he's becoming less transparent and more opaque.

32 weeks....what a HUGE milestone! I mean seriously...when someone tells you they're 32 weeks it's like OH...well you don't have that much longer. AAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! Completely insane. This week for the first time I got totally creeped out by Ben moving. He isn't rolling around anymore (not enough room I don't think), but I had a hard spot on my belly, and when I put my hand there it was like a little hand or foot or something just rolled right over where my fingers were. CREEPY! Like some alien or something. But now that I've had a few days to get used to it I really enjoy this almost more than him rolling all around. This week we had a pretty bad storm one night, and so we turned off the TV, hubby whipped out his guitar, and he played some lullabies to Ben. :) It made my heart melt. And also Ben really enjoyed it...he started kicking and moving all about for Mary Had a Little Lamb. :) So awesome.

Well, I guess that's all for now. Doctors visit next Wednesday, so we'll have my monthly doctor update, and also a new month and new fruit!! YIKES! Hope you have a great weekend! xoxo

WEEK 31!!

WEEK 31 OF PREGNANCY
As your baby's senses increase, his mommy's breathing room decreases.

Weighing in at three-plus pounds and measuring 18 inches long, your baby is quickly approaching his birth length -- though he's got to pack on another three to five pounds before D-day. Also developing at an impressive clip: your baby's brain connections (he's got to make trillions of them!). He's now processing information, tracking light, and perceiving signals from all five senses. He's also putting in longer stretches of sleep, which is why you're probably noticing more defined patterns of wakefulness (and movement) and rest (when he's pretty still).
Wow! Once again I am amazed at how much can change in one week! I did go to the doctor this week, but will continue to only post my stats once a month...however...I had 0 pounds lost or gained weight wise. So that was fantastic news. :) I talked to my doctor about my swelling, and she said that my blood pressure was no where near high, and I had no protein in my urine....both of which are triggers for Pre-Eclampsia....which I DO NOT wish to get....and that the swelling was probably due to the heat. We go back to the doctor in two weeks, and then I'll post my stats. It seems very surreal....1. that there's a baby in my belly, and 2. that at some point within 9 weeks said baby will be out here....in the real world....with me. I'll have no one to answer to, no one to ask questions, it's all me and how I prefer to do things. Talk about some major pressure!! Naturally my mother is all about this baby....she said this is the longest pregnancy ever....she cannot wait for Ben to get here. :)
OH MY GOSH....I have the absolute BEST story. SO...my last shower was this past weekend, and we are so blessed. We got a TON of really cute clothes, and it was a book theme, so TONS of amazing books for us to read to Ben. And shockingly, not a single duplicate. My sister-in-law and my brother got us our pack n play which is super exciting....we'll be putting that together this weekend and getting our room baby ready. But aside from that, we didn't really get anything BIG from our registry. So that part was kind of disappointing....not that I'm trying to sound ungrateful, but we are still lacking a travel system at this point. SO....hubby got in from being out of town LATE LATE on Tuesday night, and we had a baby class Wednesday night, and then were heading over to my parents house for a bite to eat afterwards. Well when we got there my brother and sister-in-law were there to pick up my parents car for the weekend (going to the lake and only wanted to take 1 car). So we walked into the house and my dad's like every one's downstairs having a drink. Okay great....so we walk down to the basement, and ALL of my girlfriends are sitting on the sofa. No one said anything...not them....not me....nothing. I don't think I have ever been more confused in all of my life. Then they bring out our travel system. My bestie E and my sister-in-law contacted all of my girlfriends and mom and they all chipped in and bought it for us. I was STUNNED to put it mildly. I honestly had no idea what to even say. I mean thank you doesn't even begin on what I owe these women. What a thoughtful thing for them to do. I was so very excited. :)
So now also this weekend we'll be installing car seat bases, and putting on car seat toys so Ben will be ready to roll. Sometimes I think 9 weeks seems like a lifetime.....but then I think about how busy these next 9 weeks are going to be, and I wonder how on earth we'll get everything completed that we need to. Prayer and a lot of help from your friends.....
Hope you have a great weekend!! xoxo

30 WEEKS!!!

WEEK 30 OF PREGNANCY
Your baby's brain is getting smarter by the minute, but for mom, the only thing that smarts right now may be heartburn pain...

Your belly's increasing size is a definite clue that your baby is getting bigger every day, weighing in at over three pounds now (he'll be packing on the weight at a rate of half a pound per week for the next seven weeks). Also growing daily is his brain, which is actually starting to look like the real thing with those characteristic grooves and wrinkles. And now that your little genius can regulate his own body temperature and turn up the heat, he'll start shedding lanugo, the downy body hair that's been keeping him warm up until now.

WOW! 10 more weeks to go. It seems so insane. I go back to the doctor on Monday, and then every other week until July and then EVERY WEEK! And I hope Ben doesn't turn up the body temperature too much....MAMA'S HOTT ALREADY! Aside from being hot all the time, things are still going pretty smoothly. I can definitely feel the heat after I eat though....heartburn man....I haven't ever had it before, but boy oh boy is it uncomfortable! Within an hour after eating there I sit with that burning sensation in my chest. Talk about a pain! But in the end, it's all worth it...I just can't wait to hold my angel boy in my arms. :)
