Welcome to the World...

WELCOME TO THE WORLD LITTLE MAN! My best friend went into labor yesterday morning. :) We have a new addition to the family....a happy and healthy 8lb 15oz 20" long little boy. Life doesn't get any sweeter. I went to visit yesterday while on my lunch break...he is absolutely prescious...biggest cheeks I've ever seen in my life. There's nothing like holding a sleeping newborn. :) Just makes you happy. I'm going to go back today to visit, and attempt to take my husband with me tomorrow...I tried to get him to go last night, and his response was "me...in a hospital with you and a newborn? I don't think so..." LOL. So I didn't make him go...but I feel like he needs to go and visit...I mean we're married, they're his friends now too right?!?!? I think he just doesn't want to have the baby talk again.

We had our walk through at the house this morning. It was very exciting. We spent 2 hours putting tape all over the drywall of places where we wanted things either touched up with paint or if there was a dent or scratch that needed to be repaired. It's crazy to think that this time next week paint will be going on all the walls....I'll show up next Friday evening and it won't even look like the same house! It'll be C-R-A-Z-Y!! I am super excited though. And anxious to get everything moved in. Of course I checked the 10 day weather forecast this morning....rain, rain, and more rain ALL of next weekend. :( Fortunately, the POD will be in the driveway, so things shouldn't get too wet going from there to the garage. We'll see...hopefully the roof of the POD doesn't leak!

Well, that's all for now I guess. Just wanted to give a little update. Talk to you soon!!

WHOA BABY!

SO...so many things are going on right now. :) First, and kind of random....I posted like 2 weeks ago on facebook "3 WEEKS BABY", which for anyone who really knows me knows that I meant moving into our new house...which is now down to 1.5 weeks....HOWEVER...some people decided that it meant I was pregnant and either due in 3 weeks or would be finding out the sex in 3 weeks. I was beyond mortified. So yeah just wanted to share...

On another note...WE MOVE IN 1.5 WEEKS!!! I can't hardly believe it. :) It is so incredibly exciting. I was going to take the 3rd of April off which is the day we are set to close...but this morning, my mom told me that she and my dad have decided to pay for our HOUSE TO BE PAINTED!! Talk about excited. :) I was beyond. :) So...after we close on the house that morning, I'll be coming to work, and Geoffrey is going to take care of a few things at the house, and then the painters will be coming that afternoon!! I'm so excited I can hardly stand it. :)

OH...on a different note, my brother and his fiance bought a house! It's a repo...so it needs some serious WORK, but they're both so excited about it, and thats the main focus. So my mom calls me yesterday evening and says...so guess when Matthew is closing....I was like let me guess...April 3....yup. Sure enough, we close at 9am, and my mom is then going to rush over to my brothers closing which will be at 11am. INSANE! So now I don't know if we'll have help moving into our house that weekend from my parents or what. I haven't talked to my brother yet to see what his plan is.

Here's our moving game plan.....we are having the POD delivered on Friday April 3...their automated service will call me sometime on Thursday to let me know a 3 hour time frame of when they'll be there. So after we close, Geoff is going to the house to take care of a few things...like meeting the DirecTV people (hopefully haven't scheduled this yet), and getting the brackets set up for our flatscreen over the fire place and that sort of a thing. He wanted to get that taken care of BEFORE the painters got there. So the painters will get there sometime after lunch and do their thing. I'm hoping they get everything painted before Saturday...but I'm not going to stress out about it if they don't. :) Game plan for Saturday is to unload the POD....I have them coming back to pick it up on Monday, so whatever we don't get moved out and put into the house I just want it all moved into the garage...at least that way they can come and pick up the POD and we'll be able to park in our own driveway. :) I'm hoping we'll have some help on Saturday, but if it's just Geoff and myself I'm sure we'll get it all taken care of...we'll see I guess. :) Then the plan for Sunday and Monday (we're both off Monday) is to get everything put away and situated. My brother-in-law used to own a restaurant...so he is completely in charge of where things are going to go in my kitchen. I asked him to take care of it because he knows more so than I do what should be where so it will be utilized the best. So I'm very thankful for him. And my other brother-in-law is in charge of where all the furniture is going to go and how it should be positioned and that sort of a thing. He has a knack for interior designing, so I just go with the flow with him. :) I also have a few friends who are RIDICULOUSLY organized and for lack of a better word, anal about throwing things away, and I told them that I'm going to create 3 piles in the garage...keep...garage sale...pitch. Hopefully we'll then have no clutter, and our basement storage area won't be filled to the brim. :)

Well, thats all I have for now. Hope all is well with you, and I"ll talk to you soon!

Long Time No Write....

WHOA. So it's been quite a while since I've written. SO MANY THINGS I want to talk about. I don't even know where to begin! Hmmm....

First, my God-son is going to be here ANY DAY NOW! His original due date is April 7, but then they scheduled my friend for a c-section on March 30...needless to say, she went to the dr on Monday and is now on complete bed rest because he could be here at anytime. Very exciting time for everyone. Especially me because I love to spoil kids that aren't mine. :) haha! She goes back to the dr tomorrow, so hopefully they'll bump her c-section up to like Saturday. :)

Second...the house...WHOA! So many things are happening. We are set to close at 9am on Friday April 3...for those of you with poor scheduling skills, that is a little over 2 WEEKS AWAY! I can't even believe it. We have our big walkthrough next Friday March 27, and that is going to take like 2 hours they said. CRAZINESS...but if there is anything we don't like they will fix it before our final walkthrough which is set the day of closing. We also have our home inspection the day before closing. And we have hired painters! THANK GOODNESS!! Not to paint everything, but here is my ideal situation....We close Friday morning, and meet the painters at the house around 11am. They are only painting the kitchen (due to me not wanting to paint around cabinets), and the main living area (due to my fear of having to be evil kenevil on a ladder to reach the ceiling). So if we meet them at the house around 11, I am hoping they can finish the areas they're going to paint on Friday. Ideally, we will have purchased the paint for the rest of the rooms we are going to paint...laundry, 2 dining room walls, and our bedroom. HOPEFULLY we can have everything painted by the end of the day on Friday. OH...and the POD is being delivered that day too so on Saturday morning all we have to do is unload and put things away. No travel which is going to be so incredibly fantastic. :) Hopefully all of that will pan out, because I would love love love to have everything painted before we start moving furniture. That would just be amazing. Also on that Friday we will have purchased blinds so Geoff can be hanging those while the guys are painting....give him something to do yet keep him out of the way. :)

Saturday my goal is to get everything into the house and begin unpacking. I already have designated friends who are in charge of deciding if I need things or not. They're not even going to ask me...and then probably 6 months from now I'm going to be looking for something and it'll be gone. LOL. In the garage I am going to designate 3 areas....Keep, Toss, Yard Sale...so we'll be having a yard sale either in April (one would hope) or sometime in May. I don't want to wait too long though because then my yard sale stuff will wind up in the basement and then when we move 60 years from now I'll be going awe man I coulda made $.30 on that single glove. LOL.

Well, I guess I really only had 2 exciting things to talk about...more to come...

Movin on up....

WE GOT OUR CLOSE DATE SET!! We are closing on our house Friday April 3, 2009!! It's completely insane. To think that in 4 weeks I will be packing up the few things we have at my parents house....and buying paint...it's crazy. :) I absolutely cannot wait. We picked out paint colors yesterday and it makes me so ready to get in and get the house painted. We chose a yellow for the kitchen, and a shade lighter of yellow for the butler's pantry and laundry room which of course are just adjacent to the kitchen. Then for the main living space we chose a very warm neutral brown. I LOVE it. THEN...our dining room is open to the main living space, but it has two walls that we are going to paint a medium shade of green, and our mast bedroom is going to be one shade darker in the green. The loft will be painted the same as the main living space, and we decided to leave the bathrooms white for now and just accessorize them with color. Also, we are leaving the two spare bedrooms white for now until we can decide what we want to do. Quite frankly, it will depend on when we get pregnant, and once we find out what we're having. :) The front extra bedroom has a gorgeous big 'ol window, and some people might think why on earth would you want to put a baby in a room with a big 'ol window...but I think with the pefect window treatments it would make the best little girls room, and the back bedroom for a little boy. :) SO..no paint colors there yet. We'll see what happens. Well, thats all for now...I was just so excited that I had to let you all know!! WOOHOO!!!
