WELCOME TO THE WORLD LITTLE MAN! My best friend went into labor yesterday morning. :) We have a new addition to the family....a happy and healthy 8lb 15oz 20" long little boy. Life doesn't get any sweeter. I went to visit yesterday while on my lunch break...he is absolutely prescious...biggest cheeks I've ever seen in my life. There's nothing like holding a sleeping newborn. :) Just makes you happy. I'm going to go back today to visit, and attempt to take my husband with me tomorrow...I tried to get him to go last night, and his response was "me...in a hospital with you and a newborn? I don't think so..." LOL. So I didn't make him go...but I feel like he needs to go and visit...I mean we're married, they're his friends now too right?!?!? I think he just doesn't want to have the baby talk again.
We had our walk through at the house this morning. It was very exciting. We spent 2 hours putting tape all over the drywall of places where we wanted things either touched up with paint or if there was a dent or scratch that needed to be repaired. It's crazy to think that this time next week paint will be going on all the walls....I'll show up next Friday evening and it won't even look like the same house! It'll be C-R-A-Z-Y!! I am super excited though. And anxious to get everything moved in. Of course I checked the 10 day weather forecast this morning....rain, rain, and more rain ALL of next weekend. :( Fortunately, the POD will be in the driveway, so things shouldn't get too wet going from there to the garage. We'll see...hopefully the roof of the POD doesn't leak!
Well, that's all for now I guess. Just wanted to give a little update. Talk to you soon!!

WHOA BABY!
SO...so many things are going on right now. :) First, and kind of random....I posted like 2 weeks ago on facebook "3 WEEKS BABY", which for anyone who really knows me knows that I meant moving into our new house...which is now down to 1.5 weeks....HOWEVER...some people decided that it meant I was pregnant and either due in 3 weeks or would be finding out the sex in 3 weeks. I was beyond mortified. So yeah just wanted to share...
On another note...WE MOVE IN 1.5 WEEKS!!! I can't hardly believe it. :) It is so incredibly exciting. I was going to take the 3rd of April off which is the day we are set to close...but this morning, my mom told me that she and my dad have decided to pay for our HOUSE TO BE PAINTED!! Talk about excited. :) I was beyond. :) So...after we close on the house that morning, I'll be coming to work, and Geoffrey is going to take care of a few things at the house, and then the painters will be coming that afternoon!! I'm so excited I can hardly stand it. :)
OH...on a different note, my brother and his fiance bought a house! It's a repo...so it needs some serious WORK, but they're both so excited about it, and thats the main focus. So my mom calls me yesterday evening and says...so guess when Matthew is closing....I was like let me guess...April 3....yup. Sure enough, we close at 9am, and my mom is then going to rush over to my brothers closing which will be at 11am. INSANE! So now I don't know if we'll have help moving into our house that weekend from my parents or what. I haven't talked to my brother yet to see what his plan is.
Here's our moving game plan.....we are having the POD delivered on Friday April 3...their automated service will call me sometime on Thursday to let me know a 3 hour time frame of when they'll be there. So after we close, Geoff is going to the house to take care of a few things...like meeting the DirecTV people (hopefully haven't scheduled this yet), and getting the brackets set up for our flatscreen over the fire place and that sort of a thing. He wanted to get that taken care of BEFORE the painters got there. So the painters will get there sometime after lunch and do their thing. I'm hoping they get everything painted before Saturday...but I'm not going to stress out about it if they don't. :) Game plan for Saturday is to unload the POD....I have them coming back to pick it up on Monday, so whatever we don't get moved out and put into the house I just want it all moved into the garage...at least that way they can come and pick up the POD and we'll be able to park in our own driveway. :) I'm hoping we'll have some help on Saturday, but if it's just Geoff and myself I'm sure we'll get it all taken care of...we'll see I guess. :) Then the plan for Sunday and Monday (we're both off Monday) is to get everything put away and situated. My brother-in-law used to own a restaurant...so he is completely in charge of where things are going to go in my kitchen. I asked him to take care of it because he knows more so than I do what should be where so it will be utilized the best. So I'm very thankful for him. And my other brother-in-law is in charge of where all the furniture is going to go and how it should be positioned and that sort of a thing. He has a knack for interior designing, so I just go with the flow with him. :) I also have a few friends who are RIDICULOUSLY organized and for lack of a better word, anal about throwing things away, and I told them that I'm going to create 3 piles in the garage...keep...garage sale...pitch. Hopefully we'll then have no clutter, and our basement storage area won't be filled to the brim. :)
Well, thats all I have for now. Hope all is well with you, and I"ll talk to you soon!

Long Time No Write....
WHOA. So it's been quite a while since I've written. SO MANY THINGS I want to talk about. I don't even know where to begin! Hmmm....
First, my God-son is going to be here ANY DAY NOW! His original due date is April 7, but then they scheduled my friend for a c-section on March 30...needless to say, she went to the dr on Monday and is now on complete bed rest because he could be here at anytime. Very exciting time for everyone. Especially me because I love to spoil kids that aren't mine. :) haha! She goes back to the dr tomorrow, so hopefully they'll bump her c-section up to like Saturday. :)
Second...the house...WHOA! So many things are happening. We are set to close at 9am on Friday April 3...for those of you with poor scheduling skills, that is a little over 2 WEEKS AWAY! I can't even believe it. We have our big walkthrough next Friday March 27, and that is going to take like 2 hours they said. CRAZINESS...but if there is anything we don't like they will fix it before our final walkthrough which is set the day of closing. We also have our home inspection the day before closing. And we have hired painters! THANK GOODNESS!! Not to paint everything, but here is my ideal situation....We close Friday morning, and meet the painters at the house around 11am. They are only painting the kitchen (due to me not wanting to paint around cabinets), and the main living area (due to my fear of having to be evil kenevil on a ladder to reach the ceiling). So if we meet them at the house around 11, I am hoping they can finish the areas they're going to paint on Friday. Ideally, we will have purchased the paint for the rest of the rooms we are going to paint...laundry, 2 dining room walls, and our bedroom. HOPEFULLY we can have everything painted by the end of the day on Friday. OH...and the POD is being delivered that day too so on Saturday morning all we have to do is unload and put things away. No travel which is going to be so incredibly fantastic. :) Hopefully all of that will pan out, because I would love love love to have everything painted before we start moving furniture. That would just be amazing. Also on that Friday we will have purchased blinds so Geoff can be hanging those while the guys are painting....give him something to do yet keep him out of the way. :)
Saturday my goal is to get everything into the house and begin unpacking. I already have designated friends who are in charge of deciding if I need things or not. They're not even going to ask me...and then probably 6 months from now I'm going to be looking for something and it'll be gone. LOL. In the garage I am going to designate 3 areas....Keep, Toss, Yard Sale...so we'll be having a yard sale either in April (one would hope) or sometime in May. I don't want to wait too long though because then my yard sale stuff will wind up in the basement and then when we move 60 years from now I'll be going awe man I coulda made $.30 on that single glove. LOL.
Well, I guess I really only had 2 exciting things to talk about...more to come...

Movin on up....
WE GOT OUR CLOSE DATE SET!! We are closing on our house Friday April 3, 2009!! It's completely insane. To think that in 4 weeks I will be packing up the few things we have at my parents house....and buying paint...it's crazy. :) I absolutely cannot wait. We picked out paint colors yesterday and it makes me so ready to get in and get the house painted. We chose a yellow for the kitchen, and a shade lighter of yellow for the butler's pantry and laundry room which of course are just adjacent to the kitchen. Then for the main living space we chose a very warm neutral brown. I LOVE it. THEN...our dining room is open to the main living space, but it has two walls that we are going to paint a medium shade of green, and our mast bedroom is going to be one shade darker in the green. The loft will be painted the same as the main living space, and we decided to leave the bathrooms white for now and just accessorize them with color. Also, we are leaving the two spare bedrooms white for now until we can decide what we want to do. Quite frankly, it will depend on when we get pregnant, and once we find out what we're having. :) The front extra bedroom has a gorgeous big 'ol window, and some people might think why on earth would you want to put a baby in a room with a big 'ol window...but I think with the pefect window treatments it would make the best little girls room, and the back bedroom for a little boy. :) SO..no paint colors there yet. We'll see what happens. Well, thats all for now...I was just so excited that I had to let you all know!! WOOHOO!!!

HOLY MOLY....
Okay, so I have about a million and one things that I should be doing here at work....instead, here I sit and blog. In my defense, I haven't blogged in quite a few days so I feel like I really need to get some of this out of my system. :)
SO...First up, my husband and I are meeting with a loan officer today. I'm excited and nervous and slightly anxious (big surprise) about it. I'm sure we'll be fine, we have everything in order where it needs to be, and we have been pre-approved by another lender already....but still...in the back of my mind I'm terrified that we won't be approved and then what happens to my gorgeous new home?!?! Now, for those of you that don't know me, my thoughts are nothing unusual...I had similar thoughts Sunday morning as I was driving to my accountants office to drop off all of our tax information. I was completely terrified that we were going to owe. Now, first off I don't even think it would be possible for us to owe....I mean I was unemployed for almost a quarter last year! Needless to say, picked up our "packet" this afternoon and we do not owe. We actually are getting a nice little lump sum back. Which is great, because we need that money for our down payment on the house. :)
Something that I am doing to keep my mind off of feeling anxious about meeting with the loan officer....I have started planning our Derby party. I know...I have completely lost it. It's not even within 8 weeks and here I am planning away. Figuring up menus, games to have, it's ridiculous. My cousin posted on my facebook that I was Nanny II...and for those of you who don't know my grandmother...clearly that is where I received my early party planning skills from. I however do not prepurchase food and store it in the freezer. ;) Yes folks thats right...most of my grandmother's parties consist of freezer burned food that neither I nor my husband will eat. We make sure to eat off of the dishes that other people have brought for the occasion. Now...not to say I don't love my grandmother, because I definitely do, I just don't want people to have freezer burned food at my home. :)
So yes, that is what is going on with me...on top of all that, my best friend is pregnant and she is due the same day we're set to close on the house! HOWEVER...she went to the doctor this past Monday (5 weeks to go) and the baby weighs 7 POUNDS!! Totally crazy. So now I'm feeling nervous and anxious about that as well. The baby will be my God-son, and already I feel protective of the little guy. Doesn't hurt that I wasn't raised with any sisters, and I'm convinced that is why God gave me her. Makes me nervous for her...I mean I wouldn't want some 10 pound turkey comin out my hoohah. Not that I'm comparing my darling God-son to a turkey...but you get the idea. SO...next weekend I'm going to go over to their house and help her get everything in order that needs to be in order. It's funny because she is always the organized planner of the two of us, and yet here I am helping her to plan and get organized. But I suppose when you have pregnancy brain you can use even me for help. :)
Okay yeah so now I have to get back to work. I'll talk to you soon!

Crazy Weekend...
So...this past weekend was RIDICULOUS. We were so incredibly busy! It started Friday night with us having my husbands grandpa and cousin (and her famiily) and his brother and brother-in-law all over for dinner. We do this about once a month..well we rotate where we go, and we figured why not host one last time before we move into the NEW HOUSE. So we had a fantastic meal Friday evening with everyone. Saturday morning we got up early and went to check on the house...heat is on, and they are painting again and it looks so much like a house. It's fantastic. Then we got on the road to travel to Lex-Vegas! We went to the UK UT game. It was awesome. We met up with my cousin and her husband and their friends and we had lunch and then hit up the game. It was pretty awesome. After that we drove back home and took a rest for an hour, and then we met friends out for drinks and dinner followed by a party. We didn't get home ridiculously late or anything, probably in bed and asleep by about 12:45, but Sunday morning I was hurtin. I thought my head was going to explode. I don't know what that was about. But of course another busy day yesterday. It was dad's birthday, and with them out of town I had to get everything for dinner, plus pick up his present, drop off our tax stuff to my uncle...and the list goes on and on and on. On the fun side, my best friend and her husband are renovating a condo on Everett, and they had an open house yesterday for friends and family and anyone else who happened to see the sign and stop by. The work they have done is unbelieavable. Seriously...doesn't at all look like the same place they bought months and months and months ago. :) So, if anyone is interested in buying over in the Highlands let me know and I'll give you their information. ALSO, they started their own business, and let me tell you, the tile work in the kitchen and bathroom is amazing. So if you need tile work done let me know that too and I'll give you their information. :) Thats all for now.

Just Another Manic Monday....OOOooooOOOO
Hello Hello Hello! What a WONDERFUL weekend I had. :) It started at around 2:30ish on Friday. My WONDERFUL husband had flowers sent to me at work. :) They are absolutely gorgeous. We met at Sam's after work to get some fruit for a fruit salad that we were taking to his Grandpa's Friday night for a family dinner. It was a semi-sad occasion. We were celebrating February birthdays, which include Geoffrey's grandmother (passed in 2006) and his Uncle Steve who tragically passed last month. But with a family as large as his, with so many kids running around, it wasn't sad long.
Saturday I was able to sleep in...sort of...and then got caught up on my tv shows that I dvr'd during the week while Geoff went into work for a while. When he got home we had some lunch and then went to check out the house! They primed all of the interior walls and got the ceilings painted. :) It was very exciting. After that we went home to start getting ready for dinner. We had an 8:15 dinner reservation at Ruth Chris Steakhouse. It was FANTASTIC. :) Very yummy, and after dinner we went downtown to his brothers house for a quick minute. Then back home...where the romance didn't end.....
So on Sunday we got up and went to the grocery...I had plans with my mom to go and visit my cousins babies yesterday...and yes I said babieS. Twin girls...and we had decided to take some dinner and things over so they could just relax and not have to worry about food for the evening or tonight we took over TONS. So we went over there last night around 4:30...we stayed for 2 HOURS! It was so much fun. And let me tell you...identical twins....seriously...can't even tell them apart. It's totally crazy. On top of having 2 new babies, they also have an 18-month old daughter as well. 3 girls under the age of 2! God bless 'em.
So that was my fun weekend. I always think of like millions of things I want to say and by the time I actually have time to sit down and type things out I ramble nothingness for a few paragraphs and log out. Oh well. That's my life in a nutshell!!
